Driving from Connecticut to Florida, we stopped to get gas and breakfast. We came across the Starlite Diner and what a gem. With the retro look, the friendly host, the very efficient wait staff and amazing food. Everything was perfect. A special thanks to Ray the owner who went above and beyond. No need to look any further for a great restaurant.
I just moved to Whitehall 2 months ago. On Friday, Feb 6th, after having a horrible experience at Panera, I went to Starlite Diner for some takeout breakfast. They were fast, efficient, and the food was EXCELLENT! The first girl that greeted me was smiling, open and funny. The manager who was also at the counter/register area as well, snapped at me to "wait!" to pay for my food. It was so rude, it surprised me and I took a step back. The first girl, seeing what just happened, quickly jumped in to "smooth" things over. It wasn't until the girl made a comment about the woman's new granddaughter, that the woman finally broke a smile. It shouldn't take one of the staff members to snap this woman out of her rude disposition. Because of the person I am, I chose to engage and ask questions then, about her granddaughter, and it was a nicer exchange. I WILL go back, because it's clear that it's a good dinrr with great food. So I'll give grace and chalk it up to her having a bad morning. However, it should never be taken out on the customers. That said, I would recommend that the front reception desk/register area should only have people there to kindly greet the customers on their way in/out. It will make the overall experience, that much better.
This is a great dinner with many food options. I will definitely be back. Service was great too. The salad bar was very extensive. The only disappointment was that I wanted a dessert to go but the server dropped it on the floor and it was the last one. It was the mousse mouse. I was sad.
Stopped in Starlite this afternoon heading home from a concert and I have to say, I was presently surprised! It has a very unique 80s look on the outside, but a very spacious and Homey diner appeal on the inside. They have a cute little salad bar, and everyone is extremely friendly. Being extremely hungry, I had two meals, the red pepper and feta omelette and the Croissant breakfast sandwich. I was not expecting the croissant to be so large and it was very tasty. The home fries weren’t super flavorful but the rest of the meal made up for them ten fold! I probably won’t be back in town anytime soon, but best believe, if I do find myself back in Allentown PA, this is where I will go for breakfast!
We had a holiday gathering in their private room and the service was exceptional! They gave us a party menu to order from. Prices were decent and they also have a bar inside of this restaurant. Our waitress, Kate, was very attentive & sweet. We gather here as a group every December and look forward to making more memories in the future.
If you are looking for a genuine diner experience, this is the place to go. The decor is absolutely perfect for a diner and the service is amazing. I got their chicken taco salad and it was humongous and tasted amazing. I forgot to ask for sour cream for a side and I would definitely recommend that as it would have elevated it to the next level. they had a wide variety of options and everyone in my group loved what they got.
Amazing. Amazing. Food is great. We told the cook to pack their bags cuz they was coming home with us lol. Staff is friendly and truly attentive to their tables. Place is always clean.
I stopped in and ordered the turkey melt with a side of potato pierogi, and everything was excellent. The turkey melt was perfectly grilled and flavorful, and the pierogi were a delicious, comforting bonus. They also offer complimentary soup, and today’s choices were navy bean or chicken noodle. I went with the chicken noodle and it was loaded, hearty, and incredibly flavorful — honestly one of the best diner soups I’ve had. Service was friendly, attentive, and made the whole meal even better. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the area!
I picked this diner because of its rating and they absolutely delivered! The food & service were absolutely fantastic. I asked the server for recommendations and she listed off her favorites. We ordered the potato skins, chicken fingers, coleslaw slaw, perogies, cheesesteak & egg platter. Everything came out very quickly and perfectly cooked. The portions were very generous & the prices were fair. We'll definitely be returning.
